“Cultivation and Processing Technology of Vietnamese Seaweed and Algae: Current Status and Solutions”
Following the activities within the project "Enhancing Sustainability of the Marine Economy: Professional and Educational Cooperation" between the Minister of Foreign Affairs - representative of the Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam and Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City (Agreement EDU 2023-04, dated November 8, 2023), the scientific conference “Cultivation and Processing Technology of Vietnamese Seaweed and Algae – Current Status and Solutions” was successfully held on the morning of April 22, 2025. The purpose of the conference was to introduce the activities and research results of the project.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan – President of Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City – delivered the opening speech of the conference.

During the conference, companies and scientists had discussions and exchanges about the advantages and difficulties as well as the development orientation of Vietnamese seaweed and algae in general, and Ninh Thuan in particular.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kha Chan Tuyen chaired the discussion session of the conference
Furthermore, the research team presented products developed through the project, with the aim of supporting technology transfer and enabling product diversification for seaweed and algae businesses.
